University Of Washington Application Essay. A UW admission essay is a great opportunity for a potential student to express himself or herself, as well as to tell the committee what one is passionate about. This way, it allows the admission committee to see a person behind the grade scores and transcripts.

The personal statement that you submit as part of your application is your opportunity to present a richer characterization of yourself than what your transcripts can capture. Instructions for sending your Honors application: Save a copy of your UW application as a PDF. Save a copy of your Honors essays as a Word document (.doc or .docx). Include your name at the top of document and the essay prompts above each essay. Send both directly to the Honors Program via email, which is separate from UW Admissions.
